Queer Tea Dance

Queer Tea DanceFor three hours we’ll be playing music, starting in the 1940s and 50s, gradually progressing right through to the present day, taking your requests as we go.

Tea Dances originated in the US in the 1950s and 60s and were embraced on the UK LGBTQI+ scene after that. Typically, older Queers would turn up earlier to hear their generation’s music (and take tea!) then progressively younger people would arrive, making it a rich cross-generational social event.
